How to Install Lightroom MOD APK on Windows PC
Edit your photos with fully unlocked premium mobile tools... but on a 27-inch monitor. Here is the step-by-step emulator guide.
Using a photo editor on a 6-inch phone screen is incredibly convenient for travel and social media. But if you have an extensive shoot to go through, a massive RAW file to edit, or complex AI masking to perform, there is absolutely no substitute for a mouse and a large, color-accurate monitor.
The problem is that Adobe's desktop software (Lightroom Classic and Lightroom CC) does not have a "MOD" equivalent that works well. Adobe closely monitors the licensing of its PC applications. The solution is simple: run the unlocked Android version of the app directly on your Windows PC using an Android Emulator.
Method 1: BlueStacks 5 (Recommended)
BlueStacks is the industry standard for running Android apps on Windows. It is fast, highly stable, and allows you to easily drag-and-drop files between your Windows PC and the Android file system.
Download & Install BlueStacks
Navigate to bluestacks.com and download the BlueStacks 5 installer. Run the .exe file and let it download the necessary Android framework files (roughly 500 MB). Depending on your internet connection, this takes 3 to 10 minutes.
Download Lightroom MOD APK
Using your regular Windows browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox), click the download button at the bottom of this page to save the latest Lightroom_MOD_v9.2.2.apk file to your computer's "Downloads" folder.
Install the APK
Open BlueStacks so it displays the 'Android Home Screen'. Open your Windows File Explorer and navigate to your Downloads folder. Click and drag the APK file directly onto the open BlueStacks window. The emulator will instantly initiate the install routine. Wait 20 seconds, and the Lightroom icon will appear.
Configure Media Manager
To edit photos stored on your PC, you must import them into BlueStacks. Open the System Apps folder on the BlueStacks homescreen, select Media Manager, click Import From Windows, and select the photos. Now open Lightroom MOD APK and those photos will be selectable from the standard gallery.
Method 2: Windows Subsystem for Android (Windows 11 Only)
If you are running Windows 11, you technically do not need a third-party emulator. Microsoft built an Android subsystem (WSA) directly into the OS. However, setting this up to sideload a third-party APK requires developer mode and command-line knowledge.
Enable WSA & Developer Mode
Install the Amazon Appstore from the Microsoft Store, which automatically installs WSA in the background. Open the "Windows Subsystem for Android Settings" application and toggle Developer Mode to ON. Note the IP address it displays (e.g., 127.0.0.1:58526).
Install ADB on Windows
Download the Android SDK Platform Tools for Windows, extract the ZIP file, and open a Command Prompt inside that extracted folder by typing cmd in the Windows Explorer address bar.
Connect & Install
Type exactly: adb connect 127.0.0.1:58526. Once connected, type adb install C:\Path\To\Your\Lightroom_MOD_v9.2.2.apk. The app will install natively into your Start Menu alongside your regular Windows programs.
Note on WSA Deprecation
Microsoft announced they are deprecating WSA in 2025. While it still works currently for those who have it, BlueStacks remains the most reliable long-term solution.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, absolutely. Emulators simulate the exact architecture of an Android phone. Every premium tool—AI Masking, Healing Brush, Geometry, and all 200+ presets—operates perfectly on PC.
The Android version of the app does not feature native PC keyboard bindings like the Adobe Desktop variants do. However, in BlueStacks, you can open the 'Game Controls' menu on the right sidebar to manually map keypresses to specific screen taps if you wish.
No. Remember, the MOD APK explicitly severs the connection to Adobe's Cloud storage syncing servers to bypass the license check. If you begin an edit on your phone, you cannot natively pull that draft into BlueStacks without Adobe Cloud.
